There have been people who have been warning of a final worldwide crisis for many years and the fact that that it has not happened as yet has led some to become cynical about this prediction. The Bible could give us some understanding as to why this prediction has not happened until now. In the book of Revelation chapter 7 and verses I – 3, “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” Also in 2 Peter 3:9-12 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”
God is wanting people to be saved before the last great crisis just before Jesus returns to save those who are still alive and resurrect those who have died believing in Him for salvation. (See 1 Thes 4:13-18) The beginning of the final crisis can be seen in some areas of the world, it will eventually spread and engulf the whole word. We might lose every earthly possesion and even our lives but if we have chosen Jesus as our Saviour we will have eternity in the earth made new. (See Rev 21)
